Insights into Hong Kong online habits

Experian Hitwise has released its first annual analysis of web searches conducted by Hong Kong Internet users. The results show that the online auction houses have generated a lot of interest in this market. Taobao was the top auction site with 35.9% share of visits followed by Yahoo! Auctions (31.9%), Paipai (14.3%) and then eBay (7.4%.).

TaoBao Trip also ranked top for travel agency sites with 10.7% share of visits. Next was Ctrip.com with 8.2% and Qunar.com with 7.2%, signifying the increasing competition for the Hong Kong travellers from Mainland China travel agency sites.

Social Networks were continuing to grow in popularity with Facebook in the lead. Electronics, Beauty & Fashion, Entertainment, Dating, Stocks & Property are also in this new analysis from Experian Hitwise.
