ABOUT ADASIA

AdAsia magazine
was started in October 2000 by Allein G. Moore who took an early retirement after a long and distinguished career in advertising. He was trained in graphics in the UK and won many awards as an art director and typographer. He went on to become a copywriter and creative director in London before being headhunted to work in Singapore in 1979. There, too, he won both local and international awards and became Creative Director of several major agencies before buying over Chiat/Day/Mojo's Singapore operation with four partners. He started the magazine because, during his time in the advertising business in Singapore, he failed to find any publication magazine which, in his opinion, fully answered the needs of the advertising community or had the production values which reflected well on the craft in Asia. The large format publication with its distinctive red AD runs between 32 and 40 pages each month. Regular features include Agency of the Month, Creative Showcase, Off my Chest, Marketing Case Study, Book Reviews, Best Web Site and columns on planning, internet and creative by guest contributors. AdAsia soon became the leading magazine in Singapore and in its second full year (2002) was voted Best Trade Media in Asia by the Society of Publishers Asia. Today the magazine has subscribers throughout Asia and as far away as New York and London.

Allein now lectures on advertising, marketing and branding, broadcasts on radio as well as continuing to edit the magazine.
