ABOUT ALLEIN

Allein Moore was born in England and studied design at provincial colleges and the famous London College of Printing & Design.

He began his career as a typographer (type specialist) but soon became an art director winning awards while still in his early twenties. By 29 he was a copywriter and creative director with a London advertising agency. He continued to work in London and Geneva apart from taking a year's sabbatical as a lecturer in BA design course and gaining qualifications in marketing.

Allein was headhunted in 1979 to become the Creative Director of BateyAds Singapore working on the high-profile SIA account and others. During his successful career on the advertising scene in Asia, he won many local and international creative awards and was in turn CD at Saatchi-Compton, Leo Burnett and Chiat/Day/Mojo. He became a partner in Standard-CDM where he was Executive Creative Director for 12 years. He retired shortly after it was sold to Bosell Worldwide.

Remembering his dissatisfaction at the existing magazines for the advertising industry and understanding that they did not fully serve the market, he saw an opportunity to publish his own.

AdAsia quickly became the most popular magazine in the field and within 15 months was voted Best Trade Media by the Society of Publishers Asia (SOPA). As editor, Allein has become an influential voice in the industry and his magazine gained respect because of his long agency experience and industry knowledge which is evident from each issue.

Until recently he appeared weekly on his own radio programme 'Advertising & Moore' on which he interviewed well-known figures in the industry and explored themes like the role of women in advertising.

Allein was a founder member of the Creative Circle of Singapore and was the Chairman from 1981 -1984. He was also the first President of the Designers Association of Singapore, a role he held for four years. He has lectured at several Singapore education institutions including the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS), presented at a number of seminars and been invited to judge at many creative shows.

After the success of his print magazine, Allein went on to create a regional e-newsletter as a partner to the magazine and develop this website.
