New Head of Social@Ogilvy Indonesia
Patrick Searle joins Ogivly in a newly created role at Ogilvy in Indonesia. He becomes Head of Social@Ogilvy Indonesia. His role will be to work with the different agency disciplines to help accelerate their adoption of social media solutions on behalf of their clients. Searle was responsible for growing W+K Shanghai’s social media capabilities. Prior to that, he was with CIC (a WPP company) as Business Development Manager. Searle is in the right market – Indonesia is the world’s third largest Facebook nation and sixth in the world for Twitter users.
Stewart joins OMD in HK
OMD International has appointed Brett Stewart as Managing Partner based in Hong Kong. He moved from Universal McCann Hong Kong where he was Global Managing Partner leading the Cathay Pacific Airways account. Stewart has over twenty-five years of experience in the advertising industry across a range of clients in aviation, luxury goods, technology and packaged goods.
New MD for Burson-Marsteller Singapore
International public relations firm, Burson-Marsteller has appointed Danny Phan as Managing Director of its Singapore office. He moves from Bell Pottinger Asia where he helped establish its regional network. Prior to that, Phan was Regional Director of Ogilvy PR’s Global Sustainability Practice for Asia Pacific. Earlier, he was Head of Office at Ogilvy PR Vietnam where he was named Asia Pacific’s ‘Young PR Professional of the Year’.
Catcha Publishing appoints Teoh
Darren Teoh has been appointed Head of Sales, Lifestyle Special Interest Division at Catcha Publishing, an arm of Catcha Media Berhad in Malaysia. Prior to this appointment, Teoh was Head of Sales at PC.com and Majalah Tech. Teoh has more than ten years experience in publishing.
BBC turns to experience
BBC World News in Japan has appointed Katsuhiko Waza as non executive director. He was President of BBC Worldwide Japan from its creation in 2000 until he retired last year. Prior to joining BBC Worldwide, Waza worked for Mutsu Incorporated and then British Television Inc., both distributors for BBC Enterprise.
InMobi appoints Easwaramony
The mobile advertising network, InMobi, has appointed Jayesh Easwaramony as Head of Business Development, Asia Pacific. He moves from Frost & Sullivan where he was Vice-President of the ICT Practice. He was Business Development Manager earlier with Tata Sky Ltd and Star India Pte Ltd.
In his new role, Easwaramony will drive business growth through the acquisition of marquee publishers and developers.
Grey Group promotes Waldren
Luke Waldren, Managing Partner of Grey Melbourne has been named Chief Executive Officer of Grey Australia. Waldren joined Grey Melbourne in 2010. Prior to that, he ran Abundant Media, a branded content business he co-founded. Before that he was Managing Director of Badjar Ogilvy Melbourne.
TBWA hires Lin and Chen
TBWAShanghai has appointed Rannie Lin as PR and Marketing Manager. Lin moves from TBWAIdeata in Taipei. Prior to that, she was with Adidas as Advertising and Digital Marketing Senior Specialist, also in Taiwan. Also joining the Shanghai office is Music Chen as PR Executive.
Grey Group promotes Lim
Nicky Lim moves up from his role as Chief Executive Officer of Grey Group Malaysia to become Area Director for Malaysia and Thailand, a newly created role. Lim has been in the business for 20 year having worked at McCann Worldgroup, Ogilvy & Mather and JWT in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to joining Grey in 2006, Lim was GM at Momentum Experiential Branding, one of Indonesia’s largest brand activation agencies.
Bansal joins Aegis Media
Vikram Bansal has been appointed Head of Services for Aegis Media Singapore. He joins from ZenithOptimedia where he was CEO after moving up in five years from GM and Managing Director. Bansal was awarded Singapore’s Media Person of the Year in 2010. He has been in the business eighteen years. Prior to ZenithOptimedia, Bansal was with GroupM Singapore, FCB-Ulka and Mediacom in India.
Roy joins Isobar Asia Pacific
Sandipan Roy has taken on the newly created role of Regional Strategy Director. He will be part of Isobar’s Regional Strategic Practice team. Roy has had a wide experience including roles such as Managing Director of RAPP Singapore, Regional Strategy Director at Cheil Worldwide and Group Director Strategy/Global Business Director at Y&R Singapore.
