Eldelman hires new heavyweight

John O’Callaghan has been appointed Southeast Asia Director of Publishing and Partnerships at Eldelman, public relations company. Bringing over 20 years of experience as a journalist, O’Callaghan moves from Thompson Reuters where he was Asia editor for lifestyle and entertainment. He has worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, London and Washington. He will be based between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.


Changes at the top for Publicis Greater China

There have been some major changes in the management of Publicis Worldwide for the Greater China region. Arthur Sadoun, the CEO of Publicis Worldwide will take direct responsibility for Greater China as it is one of the top five markets for the agency. Jeffrey Yu is to leave his role as CEO of Greater China. Loris Nold, CEO of APAC will take direct responsibility for global clients. Laurie Kwong, former CEO of Publicis Greater China, is back and has been appointed non-executive Chairman.


Richard Nicoll

Nicoll becomes Chief Shopper

Richard Nicoll has taken on the role of Chief Shopper Marketing Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi Greater China. He will be based in Hong Kong. He brings to the role 20 years of experience in marketing and design for retail. He was a founding director of Saatchi & Saatchi X London, pioneering shopper marketing solutions for brands, retailers and retail destinations. Nicoll was Managing Director of Saatchi & Saatchi X Dubai before moving to HK.


Changes for Microsoft in Asia Pacific

Adam Anger has been promoted to General Manager for Asia Pacific at Microsoft Advertising. He will lead the newly consolidated advertising business which now includes Greater China, South East Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand. The former GM, Bruno Fiorentini, Jr, will now take on a new leadership role within Global Accounts and Agencies. Anger will report to Axel Steinman, Vice President of Emerging Markets, Microsoft Advertising. He will also partner with Grant Watts who was recently appointed Search Advertising Lead, Asia.


Renee LaBriola

New head for Neo@Ogilvy Singapore

Neo@Ogilvy has appointed Renee LaBriola, the former Managing Partner of Neo@Ogilvy London to become Head of Neo@Ogilvy Singapore. She takes over from Heather Cheong who will be assuming a new role in O&M in May.

LaBriola has had more than fifteen years of experience in digital and media and has worked in London, Chicago and New York. Earlier in her career, she worked for OMD, Starcom and MediaVest Worldwide.


Michael Atkins

New Executive Director for Dentsu Y&R Japan

Michael Atkins has been named as Executive Director for Dentsu Y&R Japan. He ran his own independent marketing agency for seventeen years and then moved on to become the COO of agency group Innocean. Most recently, he was CCO at the French company, Veolia Environment. Atkins is fluent in Japanese after being based in Japan where he established and ran the TNT Express business.

DAN Singapore adds two specialists

TBWA’s Digital Arts Network (DAN) has hired two new digital specialists for the Singapore office. Eero Aalto who comes from Finland, has been appointed Business Director. He moves from Finland’s leading independent digital agency, Into-Digital, where he was CEO for 5 years.

Rukshan Perera from the UK has been appointed Director of Operations. He moves from WPP’s specialist digital agency, Possible, where he was Head of Strategy & Planning. Prior to that, he spent 12 years in London working with leading brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Shell and Nokia.
