Cruzing into Leo Burnett
Eric Cruz has been appointed Executive Creative Director of Leo Burnett & Arc Worldwide in Malaysia. He will now be located in Kuala Lumpur from London where he was Creative Director at Wieden+ Kennedy. Prior to his UK appointment , Cruz spent over eight years in Japan with Wieden+Kennedy.
He co-founded W+K Tokyo Lab, Wieden’s experimental music label and creative think tank. Earlier to that he was in LA with Imaginary Forces and in London with Razorfish. He has a string of international awards.
SPH Magazines appoints MD of New Media
Joseph Lee will become Managing Director of New Media at SPH Magazines on 1st September 2011.
Lee has been with the SPH Group in 2005 as Vice President in the Corporate Development Division. He went on to helm 701Search Pte Ltd and SPH Interactive International. In his new role, he will spearhead SPH Magazines’ digital growth.
The Economist Group appoints Miriam Glick
Miriam Glick has been appointed Associate Director, Marketing and Sponsorship for The Economist Group, Asia Pacific, starting in September 2011. She will work with the sales team to expand the publication’s new programmes around social media.
Prior to joining The Economist Group, Glick was at General Electric where she worked in the company’s global marketing/communications and product marketing efforts.
ECD for WhybinTBWAMelbourne
Paul Reardon has moved from Clemenger BBDO in Melbourne to join WhybinTBWA in the same city as Executive Creative Director. Reardon was with his previous agency for 5 years and has picked up many awards including a Grand Prix from Cannes. WhybinTBWA recently added Mark Watkin as MD and Damian Royce as Digital CD.
Vizeum China appoints Wang
Susan Wang has been appointed Deputy Managing Director of Vizeum China working under Amei Zheng the MD. Wang will head the Shanghai office making use of her 25 years of experience in advertising and media agencies. In that time, she has worked for Saatchi & Saatchi, McCann Erickson, United Advertising Taiwan and ZenithOptimedia Taiwan where she was CEO.
Strategic Planning Director for JWT
Kapil Sethi has been appointed Director, Strategic Planning at the JWT office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since coming to Malaysia in 2000, he worked in McCann Erickson, Bates and Grey Malaysia. Prior to joining JWT, he was a columnist at The Malaysian Insider.
Hill & Knowlton hire new senior executive
Hill & Knowlton Singapore has hired Lars Voedisch as Executive Director to lead the technology practice. He moves from Dow Jones & Company where he led the PR communications across the region. Prior to this, Voedisch worked at Fleishman-Hillard as an Account Director He started his career as a journalist in Germany and came to Asia with DHL as Regional Corporate Communications Manager.
Futurebrand Singapore strengthens local team
Rob Meyerson has been promoted from Associate Director to Director of Brand Strategy for Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Futurebrand Singapore, he held posts in brand consulting firms in the USA and Shanghai.
Roberto Vichis who hails from Mexico, joins the company as Group design Director and has worked in seven countries for ad agencies and brand consultancies. He has also taught editorial design and typography at Tokyo’s Tama University.
Claris Lim has been promoted to Senior Client Business Manager. Prior to joining FutureBrand, she was with the Government’s International Enterprise (IE) Singapore.
Yenna Susanty has been made Senior Designer. She previously held positions in MakkiMakki Branding Consultants and Landor Associates.
McCann Healthcare adds three
McCann Healthcare Worldwide Asia Pacific has appointed three new senior professionals.
James Hammond has moved from DDB Australia to become President of the healthcare agency in China. He is a veteran of the healthcare industry after more than 20 years with agencies like Medicus Sydney, Publicis Groupe, SanofiLab and DDB. Hammond has worked on accounts such as Pfizer, Schering-Plough, J&J and Lilly.
Dr Sohan Shah has become Senior Vice President & General Manager in India. He is a medical doctor by training but has an MBA in marketing. He worked first for Galxo SmithKline and then joined McCann Healthcare in Indonesia, Singapore and India where he had various roles became finally Planning Consultant.
Jay Hwang becomes Managing Director of the healthcare agency in Korea after heading up an international business division of Dong-A Pharma, the largest pharmaceutical company in Korea. He spent many years with Ogilvy in its Tokyo, Seoul and Los Angeles offices working on accounts such as IBM, P&G, PepsiCo and GSK.
