PropertyGuru appoints Chief Technology Officer

Ifor Evans

Ifor Evans has joined the PropertyGuru Group as Chief Technology Officer. He will lead the company’s information technology team of more than 50. Prior to joining PropertyGuru, Evans was the Senior Director of Development for Transaction Banking at Misys in the UK. He has also held senior positions in Betfair and dunnhumby Ltd. He was also CTO for WorldPictureNetwork, a New York-based web and media company. Asia’s PropertyGuru was founded in 2006 and its portal is used by almost 11 million property buyers.


Steve Marcopoto

Marcopoto leaving Turner

Steve Marcopoto is to step down as President and Managing Director of Turner International Asia Pacific when his contract ends in December. He has been with the company for 15 years. He leaves with strong praise for his achievements from Gerhard Zeiler, President Turner Broadcasting System International. Marcopoto will remain as a Senior Advisor to ensure a seamless transition and provide continuity on current new initiatives.


Christopher Brewer

Strong brew for OgilvyOne

OgilvyOne Hong Kong has appointed Christopher Brewer as Head of Customer Engagement. Brewer moves from SapientNitro where he was Head of Strategy and Analytics, working on brands such as Verizon and Meijer. Earlier in his career, he was with The Marketing Store as VP, Strategy and Analytics and MRM Worldwide where he held the post of Director, Services and Solutions.


Piotr Jakubowski

New Head of Digital for VML Qais Indonesia

Digitally-led marketing agency VML Qais has appointed Piotr Jakubowski as Head of Digital in the Indonesia office. Born and raised in Indonesia, Jakubowski has also lived and worked in the USA and Japan. He is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Polish. He moves from Leo Burnett Indonesia where he was Digital Strategist. VML Qais is part of the Y&R Group.


JWT Singapore builds staff strength

JWT has brought on board more than 40 people since the start of the year. A recent hire was Sosuke Koyama who has joined as Head of Planning. Previously, he worked as Director of Planning at Publicis both in Shanghai and more recently Singapore. Prior to that, he was Wieden & Kennedy and TBWA in Shanghai. He has also worked at BBH Tokyo, Fallon Minneapolis and Tokyu Agency/DMB&B.

Joining as Creative Director in July was award-winning copywriter Jac Rodrigo. She moved from Lowe & Partners Singapore where she was Regional Creative Director. Rodrigo was also a creative consultant at Jaab and Creative Group Head at McCann Erickson in Bangkok.

Liyu Min Zie has joined JWT at Associate Creative Director. Prior to this, she was Creative Director at Bates Japan and Senior Art Director at Bates Singapore and Art Director at Ace Daytons Advertising.

Caroline Slootweg has come on board to lead the Singapore Tourism Board account. She was WPP’s Global Planning Director for Team Red. Prior to that, she held senior roles in Unilever.


iris Singapore hires and promotes

Mindy Yap joins iris Singapore from Ogilvy Malaysia where she led the planning on Nestle, Kimberly-Clark and Pizza Hut. Meanwhile, Adil Ismeer has been promoted to Planning Director where he will take the lead on Diageo Global Travel and Middle East, Heineken, Health Promotion Board, Philips and Sony. They will both work closely with Paul Gage, Regional Planning Director, APAC.
