WPP appoints CEO for WPP China
WPP has announced the appointment of Bessie Lee to the newly created role of CEO of WPP China. Lee is currently CEO of GroupM China where she has been since 2005 and is credited with tripling the group’s media billings. She previously worked at JWT Taiwan, Mindshare Taiwan and Mindshare Shanghai. Prior to joining GroupM, she was CEO of Mindshare China. She takes on her new role in early 2013.
Lee has won recognition for her contribution to advertising and media. This includes ‘Media Person of the Year’ from the Communication University of China in 2010 and ‘Media Person with Major Contribution to the Industry’ by China Advertising magazine. She was also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Women’s Empowerment 2010.
Lee joins Appsnack
Digital and mobile advertising specialist, Scott Lee, has been appointed Sales Director for Appsnack in South East Asia. Appsnack is the mobile advertising division of Exponential Interactive. Lee has worked for InMobi and CBS Interactive. He joined the company in the first week of December.
