The author is the Principal of FutureWorks, a new media company in Silicon Valley. I doubt if anyone reading this issue of AdAsia will be unaware of the important role social media has taken in any marketing plan or branding exercise. Chapter Three is titled ‘The New Media University’ and frankly that is what this book really is. Solis obviously knows his stuff and we should all be students sitting at his feet. He covers monetisation, the extensive tool box that awaits the traveler, relationships, social media plans and a heap more. A good solid read. The only criticism of the book is in its production – no colour pictures and the cheap feel of the paper.
