William Adamopoulos

William Adamopoulos has been promoted to CEO/Asia of Forbes Media. He will retain the title and role of President and Publisher of Forbes Asia. He joined Forbes Media in 1999 and established Forbes’ Asia headquarters. He launched Forbes Asia magazine and regional editions. Adamopoulos developed and grew the highly successful ‘Forbes Global CEO Conference’. Prior to joining Forbes, he was Publisher and Managing Director of The Asian Wall Street Journal and President of Dow Jones Publishing Company (Asia).


Leo Chu

Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai appoints Head of Digital

Leo Chu has been appointed Regional Head of Digital at Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai. He moves from Tribal DDB in the same city where he was Managing Director. Chu has had extensive marketing experience in Greater China and the USA. He will be working with Jason White, Managing Director of W+K Shanghai.



Armie Jarin-Bennett

Jarin-Bennett joins CNN Asia Pacific

Emmy award-winner, Armie Jarin-Bennett has moved from the USA to Hong Kong. She has been appointed Executive Director, CNN Broadcast Services and Affiliate Relations in Asia Pacific. In her new role, Jarin-Bennet will be responsible for all CNN broadcast sales and affiliate support in the region.


Alicia Carey

Promotion for Carey at Microsoft

Alicia Carey has been appointed as Marketing Director for Emerging Markets at Microsoft Advertising. She was formerly Marketing Communications lead for the Greater Asia Region at Microsoft Advertising. Before joining Microsoft in February 2012, Carey was Chief Client Officer at Young & Rubicam Asia. She has over seventeen years experience in building brands within global agency networks.


Prem Bhatia

PHAR appoints MD for Asia

Prem Bhatia has been appointed Managing Director of the Asian operations of PHAR Partnership, the sports and sponsorship agency. PHAR Partnerships now have offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, India and the UK. Bhatia will be operating out of the Singapore office. He is an industry veteran in sports and entertainment marketing and has managed talent like Sachin Tendulkar. He was most recently President of July Systems Inc., the San Francisco pioneer in mobile Internet platforms.


Starcom adds two seniors in Philippines

Starcom MediaVest Group has appointed two new people in senior roles.

Onel Querijero has been appointed Trading Director at LiquidThread. He moves from Maxus Philippines where he had been General Manager since 2008. He has over 19 years of experience in the industry including a stint at Mindshare Philippines as Media Director. He has worked on an extensive list of clients including Shell, SC Johnson, Nissan, Nikon, Nike and Calvin Klein.

Also joining as LiquidThread Director is Meg Arcilla. She moves from GroupM Philippines where she was Activations Director, a role she had held since 2008. She has more than ten years experience in activations and events planning. Her career has also spanned time in SM Supermalls as Marketing Manager and with Dentsu Philippines and Nickelodeon Philippines.
