New regional director for Saatchi & Saatchi

Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore has appointed Natalie Vander Vorst as Regional Director. She will lead the Mead Johnson account. Vorst started her career with Procter & Gamble in the USA and then spent 15 years in advertising with Leo Burnett in Chicago, DMB&B, FCB and JWT in New York. She worked in Asia for Ogilvy & Mather. In the Singapore office, she handled regional and local campaigns for Huggies, Kotex, Cadbury and Dove amongst others.

Zaidi Awang

Awang becomes ECD of Lowe Malaysia

Lowe Malaysia has appointed Zaidi Awang as Executive Creative Director. He moves from Leo Burnett Malaysia where he was Creative Director for eight years. Awang has worked on blue chip brands such as Maybank, Petronas, Celcom, McDonald‘s, P&G and many others. He has won awards at Cannes, One Show, D&AD, AdFest, Spikes Asia and more. He replaces Brandie Tan who has returned to his home country Philippines.

Two new senior people for Adobe

Mark Henley has been appointed to the newly-created role of Director of Transformation and Digital Strategy, Asia Pacific for Adobe. He has spent the past seven years at Fairfax as CIO for the Australian Financial Review, Director of Editorial Solutions (Fairfax Metro), and Director of Technology Strategy, Fairfax Media. Prior to Fairfax, Henley worked in the USA, UK and Australia specialising in e-commerce.

Also joining Adobe is Jennifer Ruth who becomes APAC General Manager for digital agency, Adobe Digital. She joins from American Express where she was Senior Marketing Executive.

Watts gets senior role at Microsoft

Grant Watts has returned to Microsoft with his appointment as Global Search, Display and Services lead for Asia. Watts has more than 20 years of experience from both the technology and advertising industry. He has held roles in SingTel, Yahoo!, EyeCorp and IAB Singapore. Watts is a board member of the Mobile Marketing Association Asia Pacific and the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore (ASAS). He was also a founding member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, Southeast Asia Chapter. Watts will be based in Singapore.

Text100 makes senior promotions

Communications agency Text100 has announced key promotions within Asia Pacific.

Preeti Gupta, currently Senior Account Director with Text100 Singapore, will take the role of APAC Sales Lead. She has nearly 14 years of experience of which she spent 10 in other markets including San Francisco and New Delhi.

Lee Tiam Siang moves into the role of APAC Marketing Lead. Lee was Account Director with Text100 Malaysia. Lee and Gupta take over from Australia, Megan Rosier who moves into the role of Regional Senior Consultant focusing on key clients including IBM.

Senior Account Directors Chee Yih Yang and Corina Chee have been promoted to Co-office Leads for Text100 Malaysia. They will report to Marc Ha, VP and Managing Consultant for Singapore and Malaysia.

All the promoted people will continue to have client consulting roles said Anne Costello, Regional Director of Text100 APAC.

New creative partner for K3

Nicholas Leong will join boutique agency K3 as Creative Partner from 1st March. He moves from Dentsu Singapore where he was Creative Director working on campaigns for Canon, Toyota and Kao. Prior to Dentsu, Leong was a writer at M&C Saatchi. Before moving to the creative side he held management positions at local agency Group 8. K3 was started by ad veteran, Goh Wee Kim.

New CEO for Saatchi & Saatchi Indonesia

Shannon Cullum

Shannon Cullum has been appointed CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Indonesia and Chief Growth Officer for Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific. He replaces Dini Makmun who will step away from operations to focus on a role as Chairwoman. Cullum was CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Russia from 2008. Prior to his role in Russia, Cullum spent five years in Asia with Saatchi & Saatchi working on regional business for P&G and Danone. He will be based in Jakarta.

Ravi Agrawal

CNN appoints New Delhi Bureau Chief

CNN International has appointed award-winning producer Ravi Agrawal as New Delhi Bureau Chief from 1st April 2014. Agrawal has been working in London and USA offices within the network for the past eight years. His last role was as senior producer on CNN’s flagship programme, ‘Fareed Zakaria GPS’.

Two senior additions to Grey Indonesia

The Grey Group in Indonesia has added two new senior staff who will report to Agus Sudradjat, Chairman & CEO of Grey Group Indonesia.

Monika Rudijono joins Grey from Isobar where, as CEO, she grew the agency from scratch adding blue chip accounts such as Bank Mandiri, Nestlé, GM, Telkomsel and Samsung. Prior to that, she was with Leo Burnet for six years as Client Service Director and new Business Development Director. Her new role with Grey is General Manager.

Also joining the agency is Sawitri Hertoto who has been appointed Business Director of Shopper. She moved from the role of Director of Shopper & Retail Leo Burnett. Her earlier career spans Dentsu, Lowe, Matari, Pantarei, Y&R and Leo Burnett. Hertoto has also been on the client side working for Bank Danamon in the marketing communications area.

Julien Dutronc

New Director of TV Distribution for Lightning

Lightning International has appointed Julien Dutronc as Director of TV Distribution. He joins from TV5 Monde where he managed channel distribution and affiliate sales and marketing for Asia over the past six years. Based in Hong Kong he will oversee the rollout of Lightning’s Trace Sport Stars HD, Trace Urban HD and the most recent addition, Mezzo Live HD. James Ross, CEO of Lightning International spoke of Dutronc’s wealth of experience.

Millennial Media promotion for Woolfrey

Robert Woolfrey has been promoted to Managing Director, Asia Pacific for Millennial Media. He was previously the MD for Southeast Asia. In his new role, Woolfrey will oversee the company’s growth in the broader region tapping into markets such as Japan, China and Korea. Millennial Media in Singapore had just twelve employees a year ago and now this has grown to 35. Woolfrey has been based in Asia since 2005 and worked for a number of multinationals in the digital space.

FutureBrand Australia adds senior staff

The Australian office of FutureBrand has appointed Richard Curtis as Chief Executive Officer. He moves from Interbrand. Also coming on board is Graham Purnell as Executive Director, Creative. He moves from a partnership at Cato Purnell Partners.

Ann Wang

Wang joins Criteo

Criteo, a global company which specialises in digital performance advertising, has appointed Ann Wang as Managing Director China. This is a new position to start a full-fledged business in China. Wang moves from Google where she spearheaded the regional partner acquisition and mobile business for the Online Partnerships Group in Asia Pacific. Prior to Google, Wang had worked with Intel and Nokia in various sales positions.

Scott Nelson

Senior appointment at Fitch Singapore

Fitch, the global retail and brand consultancy has added a new Associate Strategy Director in its Singapore office. Scott Nelson moves from the Columbus office where he was based for two years. In 2013, Nelson spent 3 months in Singapore as part of the company policy to encourage curiosity and boldness amongst employees. He will report to Jane Perry, Managing Director Southeast Asia.
