After revamping its image in January this year, Harian Metro in Malaysia has expanded its new face across all platforms. The objective is to not only lift the standard of the newspaper but to change consumers’ perception that it is just a tabloid publication.
Datuk Mustapa Omar, the Harian Metro Group Editor, said, “The revamp of Harian Metro is to ensure that the newspaper remains relevant to the readers in line with constant changes surrounding the readers as well as to retain our No. 1 position in terms of readership nationwide.”
The newspaper now offers readers digital versions on tablet, mobile phones and an online edition. Breaking news is also brought by Twitter, SMS and Facebook.
The revamp has been supported by an integrated marketing campaign with the tagline ‘Harian Metro – Lagi Gempak’. The ad campaign was spread using print, TV, radio and outdoor as well as in the new media.
