Digital specialists Reading Room organised their second industry event with breakfast for guests at Raffles Hotel before three presentations on ‘Smart and Effective Mobile Innovation’.
Jorg Krahnert, Managing Director of Netbiscuits, pointed out that 95% of apps were never used again after the first month and recommend a mix of mobile sites and apps was the most effective way to run a campaign. He saw the tablet marketing growing (demand stronger outside the USA) and displacing the PC . Krahnert predicted that as the tablet became more familiar there would be a change in usage.
Margaret Manning, who heads Reading Room in Singapore,spoke of the changes and the revolution we are experiencing. She pointed out way in which the mobile phone was different from other digital media. We are seeing a change the way businesses operate, she said, and brands were also changing with real value and perceived value coming together. The final speaker was N. Kumaresan, Assistant Vice President at MediaCorp Radio. He spoke about the development of MeRadio, an internet broadcasting station, which now has 50 thousand listeners a month.
The event attracted a good number of guests and many questions.
