GetIT Comms and Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation have announced the results of an annual survey ‘State of Marketing Industry Report 2011’. The majority (52%) of respondents have seen their marketing budgets increase for 2011. The increase appears to be due to a commitment to social and interactive digital media (66%). The survey shows companies more committed to their web presence embracing progressive uses for it and are keen to get more out of it in the future.

Social media is used for lead generation (43%), brand awareness (63%), product awareness (57%), customer engagement (42%) and thought leadership (25%).

The value of social media is now appreciated and only 2% say they see no value in it.

64% of survey respondents attest to using search engine marketing.

Significant numbers are putting more money into shows and PR.
