ESP strengthens regional management

ESP (Entertainment, Sports & Partnerships) is part of Group M.

It has strengthened its regional management in Asia pacific with a series of promotions. Regional Business Director Kenny Hau has been promoted to the position of Regional Managing Partner.

Josh Black has been appointed to the role of Regional Chief Operating Officer. Both will be based in Singapore.

ESP has hired Kesevan Balasingam as Head of ESP Malaysia.

He has moved from Mindshare Malaysia where he worked for 3 years. Prior to that he was with British American Tobacco.

Leung joins Always in Shanghai

Barry Leung has been appointed Managing Director, Always (Shanghai) Marketing Services Co. Ltd, part of JWT. He moves from Bates 141 where he was Greater China Regional Director. Prior to that, he was President, Ogilvy Action China. He has had over 25 years of experience above and below-the-line, working in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Clarence Chiew
Iris Singapore appoints new creative head

Iris Singapore has appointed Clarence Chiew as its new Deputy Creative Director. He moves from JWT Singapore where he was Associate Creative Director. Prior to joining JWT, where he started out as a copywriter, Chiew worked at 10am, Crush and Orange Interactive.

Tanuj Philip leaves Y&R Singapore

Tanuj Philip

After 14 years as CEO of Y&R Singapore, Tanuj Philip has resigned. There is no word on where his is going to next. While the agency has lost some major business like OCBC, a reduction of the Audi account and Resorts World Sentosa it has also picked up Goodyear, WDA and Yahoo! In the meantime, Matthew Godfrey, President of Y&R Asia said he will take over the role of Chairman of Y&R Singapore to assist on a transition.

Asheen Naidu has had a 14-year career working in South Africa, Singapore and New York. His most recent position was Deputy Creative Director at The Campaign Palace in Sydney, Australia. He has won 5 Cannes Lions and an ADC Gold.

Also joining is Daryl Corps who has moved from London where he started his career with AMV BBDO and was promoted to the board at just 26. He founded creative hot shop Lunar BBDO before joining Anomaly London in 2009. He has been in the D&AD Annual 20 times!

Grey Group Thailand appoints two industry veterans

Suvit Jaturiyasajagul and Wichit Jiamsirikam have been appointed as Executive Creative Directors of Grey Group Thailand. Currently, the duo are Presidents of the Bangkok Art Directors’ Association. The pair have been in creative partnership for ten years and have won awards at Cannes, London International Awards, CLIO and Adfest and been judges on many. The two previously worked at Spa-Hakuhodo, McCann Erickson and Creative Juice, all in Thailand.

JWT Singapore makes changes in creative department

Parixit (Parx) Bhattacharya has joined JWT Singapore as Creative Director. He joins from Y&R Dubai where he won the Design Grand Prix in this years’ Dubai Lynx. Bhattacharya won three Cannes Lions in 2010.

Minzie Liyu has been promoted to Associate Creative Director at the agency where he has been working for the past three years. In addition to his current accounts such as SilkAir, Liyu will work on the regional Sunsilk account.

Hill & Knowlton hire Alsagoff

Monica Alsagoff has joined Hill & Knowlton in Singapore as Executive Director. Alsagoff is a well-known agency veteran with more than 20 years of experience. She started her career in an international consultancy in the 1990s and founded her own boutique agency in 2006. She will report to Managing Director Baey Yam Keng.

Rajesh Mani Joins LB Mumbai

Moving from Ogilvy to join Leo Burnett Mumbai is Rajesh Mani. He becomes Executive Creative Director where he will work on brands such as Bajaj Electricals, Tata Capital, and Tashi. One of his recent creative successes was Blackberry Boys, which resulted in a hugely popular song “Blackberry Boys”. He was also involved in the global launch of Lenova X300 laptops with a film shown during the Beijing Olympics.

Group account director for JWT Malaysia

Uzz Taufek has been appointed Group Account Director at JWT Malaysia where he will work on HSBC, Unilever, and Friso accounts. He moves from DNA Comm. He has also worked at Re:think, BBDO Proximity Malaysia and Marcus Evans KL.

Jian Yang has joined PHD Singapore as Associate Business Director. Yang moves from JWT Bahrain where he headed Raffles City Bahrain and HSBC Bahrain accounts.

Monica Shoo moves from Profero where she worked on Disney Motion Pictures and UOB to join the Omnicom agency as Digital Manager.

BBDO/Proximity strengthens digital team

Lian-Shi Ho has been appointed Head of Digital at BBDO/Proximity. Shi moves from Nokia after eight years with the company in Asia and Europe. She was Senior Manager for Digital Marketing in the global Marketing Creation team based in the UK.
