MediaCom Worldwide has launched a new sports division, MediaCom Sport. It will be headed by Marcus John who was previously SVP and Managing Director of IMG Consulting Asia Pacific.
Setting up this division reflects the increasing power of sports with consumers. MediaCom Sport will offer four key areas of services: strategic advice, rights negotiation, rights activation and measurement.
John will manage the relationships with key sporting bodies and provide clients access to the opportunities. John has had some experience in this area as he has been was responsible for some of the biggest deals in Asia including the first deal which exceed US$100 million for the Beijing Olympics.
