According to the Chinese calendar, we are about to enter the Year of the Rat. This should give us an active and prosperous year ahead.
Despite the uncertainty around the USA economy, in general the mood remains optimistic within the industry. A word that has been cropping up during the race for the nomination for the next USA President is “change”. This may also be the word that marks this coming year for all of us working in the advertising and marketing sector. The speed of change requires us all to be nimble on our feet. The consumer market is now better informed and more fickle. The media vehicles are proliferating and technology is changing communication channels. Social networking sites are currently exciting people as are developments, such as the iPhone, which are introducing a larger screens onto the mobiles. This will certainly lead to more applications and additional content. The advertising industry cannot ignore these changes.
Like the rat we have to be smart and swift if we are to survive. However, let’s not scurry around in drains but be bold and adventurous and make 2008 a great year for our industry.
I wish you all a wonderful year ahead. Best wishes

Allein G. Moore
