At the recent CommunicAsia/BroadcastAsia show in Singapore I was knocked out by the example of new technology which claims to be 16 times, as I recall, sharper than HD. The quality of image, even projected on the giant screen, was truly amazing. It may take time for this to reach our home TV sets but it was just one more example of the pace at which technology is changing. We may believe that we in advertising are working at a fast pace but I get the distinct impression we are not staying ahead of the game. Talking of fast paces, my body has reminded on my recent trip overseas that I am no longer 35 years old and the doctor has told me to slow down. I am also going into hospital to have a kidney stone removed in August.
Knowing how rumours abound, let me assure you that I am not suffering from a terminal disease nor retiring (well, not this year but I am open to generous offers!). I am, however, taking a few weeks off to recover and the print publication will be coming out as an August/September issue. The July Pub Nite supported by Photolibrary was a huge success and, August Pub Nite will go on with or without me.
The latest issue of sister magazine Designer is not affected and will be rolling off the presses in the meantime and I hope you will subscribe to this 80-page colourful publication. Meanwhile, take care of your own health, and, if you are in management, that of your employees.
Have a good month ahead.
Best wishes
Allein G. Moore
