The Brand Union appoints Regional Director

The Brand Union Asia Pacific announces the promotion of Graham Hitchmough to the newly created position of Regional Director, ASEAN.

Hitchmough has been with The Brand Union for more than four years as both Client Director and, more recently, Managing Director. Under his leadership, the Singapore business has grown 30% in the last two years. Current clients include SGX, Syngenta, Coca-Cola, Pan Pacific Hotel Group and Kimberly Clark.

Ipsos appoints Combined Country Managers

Ipsos Group Co-Presidents Didier Truchot and Jean Marc Lech has announced the new territory structure of the company: Alick Zhou has been appointed as CEO of Ipsos in Greater China; Helen Lee has been hired as Managing Director of Ipsos in Greater China; Larry Wu has been appointed to the role of Chief Research Officer of Ipsos in Greater China; Darlene Lee will undertake the role of Managing Director of Ipsos in Hong Kong, and Alan Chien has been hired as the Managing Director, Ipsos Taiwan.

Lee resigns from Omnicom Media Group, China

President & COO of Omnicom Media Group, Ian Lee, will leave the agency in January 2012 after 7 years with the group. Originally CFO, Lee was promoted to the role of President & COO in 2010.

Omnicom Media Group recently appointed Arlene Ang as CEO of Digital and Gloria Li as CEO of Opera, Omnicom Media Group’s buying unit leveraging the combined billings of OMD and PHD.

Brian Swords

Swords thrust in Shanghai

Brian Swords has joined TBWAShanghai assuming the role of Brand Team Leader on the agency’s flagship McDonald’s account.

Prior to TBWA Shanghai, Swords worked in Cawley Nea TBWA as Managing Director and was President of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising in Ireland.

Vincent Teo

BBDO/Proximity Singapore strengthens planning team

Vincent Teo has been hired as Digital Planning Director, BBDO/ Proximity Singapore. He will be focusing on Visa, P&G and DHL. Teo has 10 years experience in interactive marketing, both on client and agency side, developing strategies and campaigns.

Prior to BBDO/ Proximity, Teo worked in Publicis Modem, a boutique digital agency in Hong Kong and as the client side for Citibank and HSBC in Singapore.

OMD International appoints Business Director

Silas Lewis-Meilus

OMD International, the specialist unit that manages multi-national client assignments has appointed Silas Lewis-Meilus as Business Director.

Lewis-Meilus joins OMD International from Mindshare, London where he was a Managing Partner for 4 years, heading accounts such as American Express and Motorola. Prior to Mindshare London, Lewis-Meilus was working at Mindshare, New York as Associate Planning Director on American Express for 4 years. He has held also senior roles at Universal McCann, New York and Ogilvy & Mather, New York.

Shareen Wong

Wong joins SAFRA Radio

Former radio personality Shareen Wong is joining SAFRA Radio as Programme Consultant for Power98 FM. Wong will be assisting the Power98 FM team to accomplish key strategic developments in her new position. She was the Assistant Vice President of programming for SAFRA Radio before moving into the retail industry in 2008.

Laurent Janneau

TBWAWorldwide appoints Janneau as Worldwide Managing Director

Laurent Janneau has been appointed as Worldwide Managing Director for TBWA’s global Infiniti.

Janneau started his career at BDDPTBWA Paris in 1995. He moved to Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam in charge of Nike account in 2000 and in June 2005, he left the company to join Ogilvy & Mather Paris where he worked in the Louis Vuitton business.

Karen Burke

Burke joins Interbrand

Karen Burke has been appointed as Global Chief Communications Officer for Interbrand. In this role, Burke manages Interbrand’s worldwide marketing and brand-building activities.

Prior to joining Interbrand, Burke worked at Procter & gamble where she led Marketing Operations teams and ARS Group (ARS/ comScore).

Three senior members from OMD Australia have been promoted.

Mark Jarrett has been promoted to Managing Director of OMD Sydney. He has over 15 years experience in media both in Sydney and UK. Most recently he was General Manager of OMD Sydney. Paul Elliott has been promoted to Head of Digital, Direct and Data. He was the Head OMD Digital when he was lured back from the UK 18 months ago. Dan Sinfield has been promoted to Head of Trading & Implementation. Prior to OMD, Sinfield was Business Director of McDonald’s.

Honae MacNeill

WhybinTBWATequila appointment

Honae MacNeill has been hired as Head of Broadcast Production, WhybinTBWATequila.

MacNeill started her career at Film Graphics at the age of 18. In 2006, she joined DDB Sydney and left in 2009 to have a baby. MacNeill went back to work freelancing with various agencies including GPYR Sydney.

Gandhi Suryoto

Suryoto joins TCP-TBWA Indonesia

Gandhi Suryoto has joined TCP-TBWA Indonesia as Executive Creative Director.

He spent the last two decades at multinational and local agencies in Indonesia including Leo Burnett. He was Chief Creative Officer at Fortune Indonesia before joining TCP-TBWA Indonesia.
