Six months after becoming the Global CEO of Draftfcb, Carter Murray is changing the agency’s name to FCB. Old timers will remember when that agency was called Foote Cone & Belding, one of the pillars of Madison Avenue. “Two distinct brands, Draft and FCB, were merged together seven year ago,” said Murray. “The entities have united and now have one seamless offering. It’s time to simplify our brand name as well to reflect our focused identity and direction.” On the whole the network will distinguish itself by putting the city after the initials such as FCB Shanghai. In a few cases local ownership or in the case of New York a distinguished creative leader (FCB Garfinkel) it will be different. Howard Draft remains Executive Chairman and key advisor to Murray.
