Recruitment consultancy Robert Walters has conducted a survey and found out that 67 per cent of Singaporean professionals do not take all their holiday allowance.

Andrea Ross, Managing Director, Singapore & Malaysia, says that the figure is relatively low and it reflects that Singaporeans do not have a strong work-life balance. In addition, people work longer hours so that they would not miss out on any opportunities on the work front. Ross encourages employees to take leave as it gives them a healthy outlook and time to refresh themselves, and opens their eyes to other cultures when travelling.

The survey also shows that 42 per cent of the respondents took between 50 and 75% while 25 per cent took between zero and 25% of their holiday allowance.
