Mongoose Publishing which produces a range of lifestyle magazines including ‘Esquire Singapore’ and ‘Time Out Kuala Lumpur’, has acquired the rights to publish ‘Time Out Singapore’. Time Out started as almost an underground magazine in 1968 and was essential weekly reading for hip Londoners. The founder Tony Elliot expanded it into a global publication which lists information on arts, entertainment, culture, food and drink in each city. Time Out has won the title of ‘International Consumer Magazine of the Year’ at the Periodical Publishers Association Awards in 2010 and 2011. The title launched in Singapore in 2007 and was originally published by Ink Publishing Singapore.
The magazine’s former Deputy Editor Berwin Song will head up the editorial team alongside Mongoose’s Commercial Director, Russell Channon.
The new publishers plan to increase the retail presence of Time Out and have key consumer events.
