Google’s Panda algorithm update, now rolled out on all English language website, detects and devalues “low quality content”.

Independent search marketing specialists, Greenlight, has been tracking visibility after setting up a sample keyword set on on a daily basis.

The early data from Greenlight reveals the winners are largely made up of well-known news sources such as The Guardian, The Telegraph,, Times Online and The BBC alongside YouTube and a couple of other sites.

The big losers appear to be article and content directories such as HubPages and Ezine Articles, review sites such as and ‘how to’ sites such as Videojug and eHow. One review site Ciao appear to have lost 99% of search engine visibility in, a devastating result for the publisher.
