How does your pay measure up to the salary for the same role in other countries? Even, how does your current salary measure up in your current location?

All the answers are contained in the Robert Walters Salary Survey which has just been published. The Singapore office invited the local media and important clients to a pleasant lunch in Fullerton One a few weeks back to announce the publication while Managing Director Andrea Ross, pointed out some trends in the Asia Pacific region.

The thick 40-plus pages cover many countries and Robert Walters covers a wider scope of industries than just the advertising and marketing field but let’s take a look at salaries mentioned there. These are basic salaries without CPF or perks: a marketing director with six or more years’ experience can expect to get between $150K to $220K. No change on last year’s figures. A brand manager with 4+ years experience may get between $70K and $120K. Now you have got your bonus (or maybe not) it could be time to look around!

Robert Walters also tracks job advertisements for their ‘Asia Job Index’ and it expects to see an increase now the Festive season is over. In all the major markets in the region like Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and Thailand, 2010 saw a growth over 2009 and it seems likely this will happen again this year.
