Brave smiles on some faces. Joy on others. Spikes Asia 2016 came to a close with the awards presentation at Marina Bay Sands hotel on 23rd September.

Even a Bronze award can be reflected in next year’s pay packet of an art director or writer. A Grand Prix can lift a mundane agency into the top league. A lack of awards may say to prospective clients that this is an agency on the way down. So that Friday evening was important to many in our industry.

There were a record-breaking number of entries – 5,132 in total – for this 2016 competition. Terry Savage, Chairman of Spikes Asia said that this year’s award-winning work has set the benchmark of excellence across the region. “It’s inspiring to observe the year-on-year growth of the Festival, where we can award work that has a distinctly regional identity, while also being truly world-class.”
